Welcome

42 Edit 2.png

My name’s Meaghan Steeves (she/her), and I’m a reader and editor from the East Coast of Canada. I live and work in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

I went to school for a long time until editing found me, and now I help people put their stories and information out into the world—how lucky am I?

Who I am…

Lots of wordsmiths have their own mixed metaphors when it comes to writing and editing and mine happens to be rocks and gems because I’ve always loved them. Like the written word, rocks, whether in the form of a geode, a rough-cut gem, or a polished stone, all hold value, no matter their developmental stage. What I can offer are skills to help enhance that value, whether it’s by assisting with smaller things like finding typos and misspellings or broader issues like keeping your language consistent and your message clear.

What I do…

I work primarily in nonfiction, be it manuscripts, essays, or articles—anything that tells a story or sends a message. It's my honour to be a small part in helping authors, publishers, businesses, and organizations achieve equal representation through inclusion and intersectionality of diverse voices.

If you’re struggling to find the right words, if you want to make sure your facts are accurate, or if you just need a fresh pair of eyes on your work, I can help you with that!
